Hello everyone! My name's Jessica and I am the brilliant yet kind of crazy mind behind the blog Peace Love Books. So, let's start at the beginning! I've loved reading for as long as I can remember and when I was little, I would always throw a fit if we went to a book store and I wasn't allowed to get a new book. I loved to read The Series of Unfortunate Events, Madison Finn, and The Amazing Days of Abbey Hayes. Every time a new book in those series would come out, I would freak out and have to read them immediately. Since then, not much has changed. I've grown on to love Nicholas Sparks, Cassandra Clare, and Jennifer Echols and now I just get depressed if I walk out of a bookstore with no books (you could say I'm kind of a compulsive book buyer). So since I love reading so much, I decided, why not start a blog? So last month I decided to start my blog and post book reviews on it! I had already been posting reviews on Goodreads, so I didn't think it would be that much different. But you know what the difference is? Having a blog is WAY more fun! I just did my first interview and I had soooo much fun with it. I got to talk to Lisa Lim and learn so much about her and her new book, Confessions of a Call Center Gal (which I am now in love with). I've always idolizes authors, so having one actually take the time to talk to me and give me their book for free is like a dream come true! I mean, if I get free books if I tell them what I think, then that's the perfect job for me! And so now, I try to blog everyday just sharing with people my passion for books.
What I mostly love about books is that I get to experience someone else's life. It's not like I'm not happy with my own, but I will probably never get to actually go to boarding school in France or go to a lake house every summer, so by reading books, I get to know what that's actually like. What I love most of all, though, is the romance. If the book has any kind of romance whatsoever, I am bound to read it. And you know what my guilty pleasure is? Trashy romance novels. Not many people actually know that I like to indulge myself every once in a while, but they're so addicting! I am such a hopeless romantic that stories about love and passion are what I can dream of how my life will be like one day. Books let me dream, even if those things I dream may not actually come true one day. That's why I'm majoring in Integrated English and Language Arts Education aka I'm going to be a high school English teacher. I figured, I love books and I love people, so why not share my love of books with people? That's kind of what I'm doing with my blog. I'm helping people see the magic in books and hoping that they can find the spark that I find with books.
